Standing Together Against Pre eclampsia

On 22 May 2026, CRIBS Global joined hands across continents: from Sierra Leone and Zambia to India and Brazil, to mark World Pre‑eclampsia Day with powerful community action.

In Sierra Leone, our CRADLE SMART team screened 509 women in the marketplace in one morning, uncovering urgent needs: 13% had dangerously high blood pressure, and 80% of pregnant women had not accessed antenatal care. Marketplace sensitisation, radio survivor stories, and partnerships with Lifeline, Welbodi, King’s College London, and the Ministry of Health showed the strength of community‑driven solutions.

In India, PGIMER & Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar led a vibrant awareness programme including expert talks, pamphlets, patient sessions, radio interviews and even a street play by first‑year PGs,  engaging pregnant women, caregivers, faculty, and nursing staff in early detection and management.

In Zambia, there were radio interviews, marches, screenings and information sessions with singing and dancing, to highlight symptoms of pre-eclampsia.

A global webinar, which attracted 100 participants and included a panel discussion and testimonials from survivors, brought voices together from across the world, reinforcing the urgent call: “Know Her Symptoms.”

These efforts prove that partnerships, education, and innovation save lives — and that together, we can transform maternal health outcomes worldwide.
